In response to the call from the government, EKUN actively participates in functional policies such as integration of free trade zones and ports, transformation and upgrading of modern logistics industry in port areas, industrial upgrading of pilot free trade zones, etc., as well as innovating management ideas, takes the lead in testing, and makes suggestions for regional upgrading and development; EKUN positively responds to the national policies of western development and targeted poverty alleviation, providing funds and project support for counterpart assistance in the Longnan area of Gansu Province to achieve coordinated development.

EKUN actively implements the main responsibility for production safety and attaches great importance to production safety. EKUN improves the work safety capacity of employees through three-level safety education and training; ensures production safety through 24-hour monitoring, miniature fire stations and other safety facilities; ensures safety behaviors through daily safety inspections, quarterly safety training and twice-yearly fire drills. The safety management of EKUN has reached the municipal standard of safety production standardization enterprise.

EKUN values the occupational protection of employees and ensures their safety. In accordance with the requirements of ISO45001:2018 occupational health and safety management system, EKUN protects the environment and employees’ occupational health in the process of production and service, and arranges for occupational health exams every year for employees according to the monitoring results of third-party professional institutions on the factory environment and occupational hazard factors to avoid occupational diseases; EKUN establishes and improves the standards for the distribution of labor protection supplies, and provides safety helmets, masks, gloves, knee pads, safety belts and other articles for labor protection and makes mandatory requirements for wearing and using them, in order to ensure the operation safety of employees. In the last three years, there was not a single labor safety accident at EKUN.

EKUN actively fulfills its environmental responsibility. In accordance with the requirements of ISO14001 environmental management system, EKUN has established process management procedures such as Environmental Factor Identification and Evaluation Control Procedures, Environmental and Occupational Health Monitoring and Measurement Procedures, and Environmental Control Procedures for offices and Storage Areas, and has supervised the implementation process. In line with the national goal of energy conservation and emission reduction, EKUN has purchased internationally advanced electric forklifts for internal use and the proportion of electric forklifts in the plant area accounts for 80% at present. EKUN has established a waste treatment and recovery system to achieve the classification and recovery of waste in the enterprise, and requests environmental protection units to regularly recycle toner cartridges, waste batteries and other toxic wastes, in order to meet the requirements of socially sustainable development and environmental management.

It has been identified as a “Contract-abiding and Credit-worthy Enterprise” in Shandong Province and Qingdao, and has obtained a good credit rating in the tax and banking systems. On the basis of its own integrity and law-abiding practices, EKUN is also very concerned about the integrity and ethics of its partners. In accordance with the requirements of Qualified Supplier Evaluation Control Procedure, EKUN carries out credit evaluation on suppliers and partners. In the contract review, EKUN strictly examines the business qualification of partners and suppliers to avoid dishonest conducts such as commercial fraud, so as to avoid operational risk.
